Great collaboration from participants from across the state.
Usually, ICS classes are heavily attended from Fire, Police, and EMS. But these days, we are seeing more participation from Public Health, Mass Transit, Finance, Public Works, and Logistics – each of which have a respective Emergency Support Function (ESF) and Command & General Staff (C&GSF) positions in the EOC.

And of course lots of discussion on how the Plans Section Chief produces the IAP with the input from IC/UC and the tactical insight from the Operations Section Chief.
These kinds of partnerships can only be successful if we plan, train, and exercise together.

5. Since you talk about Emergency Support Functions (ESFs), what is your favorite ESF? Hands down, ESF-15.

Kasich Orders Flags Flown at Half-Staff in Honor of the Lives Lost in Kirkersville
COLUMBUS – Today Governor John R. Kasich ordered that all flags be flown at half-staff upon all public buildings and grounds throughout Licking County and at the Ohio Statehouse effective immediately through sunset on May 16, 2017, in honor of the lives lost in the senseless acts of violence perpetrated today in Kirkersville, Ohio.
Kasich’s order reads: “In honor of the lives lost in the senseless acts of violence perpetrated on May 12, 2017 in Kirkersville, Ohio, I hereby proclaim, by the authority vested in me as Governor of the State of Ohio by the Ohio Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, that the flags of the United States of America and the State of Ohio shall be flown at half-staff upon all public buildings and grounds throughout Licking County and at the Ohio Statehouse effective immediately through sunset on May 16, 2017.”
