Social media class in the State of Mississippi Emergency Operations Center #NDPTC

Kicking off another Social Media for Disaster Response and Recovery at the State of Mississippi Emergency Operations Center!

Introduction and welcome by the Fusion Center Director Jenny Williams.

Excited to share the benefits of social media for all of our partners here today from Mississippi, Tennessee, Louisiana, and Maryland.

And not to worry, keeping an eye on Hurricane Lane and bad weather here in Mississippi too.

Let’s get this social media magic started.

State Debris Management class today

Talking refuse and garbage today…

Again, I can’t stress enough about the importance of having a debris management plan BEFORE a disaster.

There are various cost sharing opportunities and specific paperwork that needs to be approved prior to a disaster so it would behoove you to be ahead of the disaster and get your debris management plans in order.

On this one, plans lead the way.

FYI-ESF-3: Public Works is an incredible resource for this one.

How detailed does a PSC need to be?

As a All-Hazards Incident Management Team Plans Section Chief Instructor, I am often asked about the use of T-cards out in the field.

Furthermore, I am often asked how detailed they should be and what it’s really like in the field.

Lemme be very clear here: As a PSC, your details are super important!

Or else this!

Keep it real peeps and be known for solid plans.

Don’t let your plans fall through.
