And for those that can’t read, this one is my most UNFAVORITE flavor.

Starting out Day-3 of the ICS-300 class on Aloha Friday.

You can see my Aloha shirt peeking out on this cold 34 degree day in Alabama.
Glad to share the work of what our public safety forces do prior to a disaster declaration. In fact, lots needs to get done before a Federal Declaration. We talk about how locals need to work seamlessly with state agencies.
Then we talk about the importance of how states work with our regional partners.
Tailoring the convo to our FEMA employees attending helps them understand the seriousness of our work as incidents get bigger and inevitably into a type-1 disaster.
Making sure you specifically address your audience is critical at being a good instructor.
Tho, I don’t know who is Kevin Kur. Dang it. 😆
So for those that believe ICS classes are boring, I would contend that you don’t have the right instructor(s). Case in point, who gets cheers and applause at the end of an ICS-300?
Yep. Hello, I’m @rusnivek.
And of course the R9 PIO said we had to do a class Usie so…..

Say Happy Aloha Friday!!!!! PC: BRT
Reporting live from the Center for Domestic Preparedness….
Trust me when I say the world of Social Media Emergency Management is small…because today, I got a chance to chat w/ Shayne Sparagowski in Atlanta.

Shayne is an Emergency Manager out of the Atlanta-Fulton EMA in Georgia and like me, loves to talk about social media.
Hilariously, we talked more about Emergency Management specifically mass care/sheltering and a whole bunch about weather decision for large planned events. You know, typical Emergency Management talk huh?
Sounds like the spirit of Emergency Management is alive and well in Georgia as it was great to chat w/ Chayne!
Reporting live from the ATL…..
Day-2 of the ICS-300 and we already have people writing on the walls. 😳

OK, just kidding. The walls here were made to be written on as we allow our participants to collaborate with others. The wall makes it easier to draw and share ideas (including resource requests) that are needed to help response and recovery.
Glad to share so many ideas with a very diverse group of peeps here this week.

One of the participants just said that I act more FCO than PIO. 😂

Reporting live from FEMA’s Center for Domestic Preparedness…
This week, I get to be the lead FEMA Instructor for ICS-300: Intermediate ICS for Expanding Incidents.
I glanced at the roster and it is PACKED with high level peeps in this course including three Chiefs of Staffs, two Chiefs, and two External Affairs peeps, and one Director. Whoa Nellie!

I better not screw this up.

Alright, I gotta say….STOP IT. Stop driving around with just one partial front window cleaned.
People, I get that it snows. It’s February. Snow happens. However, that does not mean you get to be a jerk.
OMG – CLEAN YOUR ENTIRE WINDOW OFF!

Don’t clean one part or a small portal, clean the entire windshield and ALL windows of your vehicle.
Common sense right?
Look, let’s all use good judgement this winter and get home safely.
#Winter driving tip: Clean your entire windshield and all windows before driving anywhere. Safety is definitely worth seeing. 💯 🚙 🚗 #ILWx #ChicagoWx
Your welcome.
Don’t @ me.
Soooo tired from this week.
I need a few moments tonight to space out.

Have you heard the jokes about the moon?
It’s really out of this world…..😆😆😆😆
