Through my travels across the country, I get a chance to work in so many different Emergency Operation Centers (EOCs).

Here in the State of North Carolina Emergency Operation Center, NC Emergency Management has done a great job in the planning with their EOC layout.

Sa-weet! I especially like their media room and their design. The layout is conducive in hosting larger press conferences and accommodating VIPs.

In fact, they were so nice, they even let me talk about their ReadyNC mobile app which has a ton of useful functionality.

Additionally, they are also paired with the NC National Guard. This allows them to have immediate interoperability with other key stakeholders during an emergency or disaster.

Well done North Carolina Emergency Management!

It’s US Airways Flight 1549 (Airbus-320) that departed LGA enroute to CLT with a double birdstrike dual engine failure.

It’s an amazing social media story I talk about in all my public information officer/social media classes.
