For this day of #NationalDayOfMourning, I honor Veteran and former President George HW Bush w/ continued service to our great nation…and a strong sock game.
Thank you for your lifelong service to our great nation.

Veteran’s Day: Veterans Day continues to be observed on November 11, regardless of what day of the week on which it falls. The restoration of the observance of Veterans Day to November 11 not only preserves the historical significance of the date, but helps focus attention on the important purpose of Veterans Day: A celebration to honor America’s veterans for their patriotism, love of country, and willingness to serve and sacrifice for the common good.
Definitely one of the most diverse All-Hazard classes I had in a long while. Participants represented Emergency Management, Fusion Center, Public Works, Land & Natural Resources, Fire, Health Department, EMS, Private sector, HAZMAT, Police, Veteran’s Affairs, Intelligence, US Coast Guard PIAT, National Weather Service, CERT, and PIOs / PAOs.
Top notch peeps from across the country this week!
Special thanks to my old friend Houston Office of Emergency Management Melanie Manville for hosting this new #NDPTC class.

Here’s my Uncle Pete doing some #SafetySur stuff for the official Transportation Security Administration (TSA) 2015 pocket calendar. Celebrity status for sure! So if you’ve been through the Honolulu International Airport, you’ve probably seen my Uncle (who has since been promoted to supervisory/management at TSA HNL).
If you were wondering, my Father and Uncle are proud Veterans who served their country. Yep, safety runs in my family’s blood…Safety runs in my blood. #SafetySur
Our family has always served this great country and I am extremely proud of all my family’s accomplishments and their continued vigilance on safety.
And yes, anyone can do amazing things…even you. Get inspired by ordinary people who take extraordinary actions. Yes, I said go from ordinary to extraordinary.
For example, check these ordinary people out.
I honestly hope you do the same for others. I would.
So Veteran’s Day 2013, a big special thanks to my Dad who served in some shady areas who did some extraordinary stuff there. Also special thanks to all other Veteran’s who served and are still serving this great country.
For everyone else on this Veteran’s Day, I challenge you to do something extraordinary.
No matter how small or how big, take a part in this great day of remembrance and celebration for those who have served and provided our extraordinary freedoms that we all have in this great country.
