You can check out my periscope broadcast here.

Or, you can check out the Cleveland Water FPV FacebookLive camera here.

At the end, I’ll be doing some social media live broadcast stuff as well as some fun interview work with other PIOs and Commissioner.

2016 World Series Game-2 field work for PIOs #GoTribe #RallyTogether

Doing some Public Information Officer (PIO) stuff during the 2016 World Series was fun.

Like in any deployment, don’t forget to sign in, or else Jobu will chase you down!

2016 World Series game-2: Chicago Cubs vs Cleveland Indians

Don’t think it’s all glamour, PIOs spend gobs of time crafting specific messages tailored to each situation.

In the end, ESF-15 and all PIOs/PAOs are there to support all of our partners in public safety.

Back in R4 at Cobb County EOC for Winter Weather Hazards

Back in Georgia again teaching Winter Weather preparedness today.

I am fortunate to teach at Cobb County’s Emergency Operations Center. I esp like the sound dampening walls and modular setup. Bonus points on the police museum too.img_0478

Numerous all-hazard agencies represented as participants shared past experiences from previous historic regional ice storms and complex response challenges.

Dynamic class with challenging table top exercise (TTE) with very creative injects.img_0485

I am grateful for the opportunity to teach again in Region-4.

Afternoon briefing with the NWS-Atlanta

I got a chance to stop by the NOAA National Weather Service Atlanta office today.

Trust me, they have a ton of cool stuff.

Because of their large area of responsibility (AOR), their office is one of the largest NWS offices I’ve seen.

Aside from the Southeast River Forecast Center and Aviation Weather, they even have a media briefing room ready to go that is very capable of broadcasting immediate weather information to anyone. Nooice!

The National Weather Service is such an integral part of any operations. Special thanks to the NWS Atlanta’s OPL, AIRMETs, and METs, etc. I’m looking forward to working with many of them in the near future.

Early voting in Ohio

In Ohio, we are very fortunate to have early voting.
And because I will be out of state in Region 4 on November 8, I decided to vote early today.

Fairly easy process. Free parking too!

I hope every American is participating in the upcoming election by voting.

And yes, you can vote in an Aloha shirt too. Happy #AlohaFriday peeps!

@rusnivek

Everyone is participating in the #DropCoverHoldOn exercise today at 10:20 #ShakeOut

Everyone should be doing #DropCoverHoldOn during today’s Great #ShakeOut national #preparedness effort.

Great ShakeOut = Thursday 10/20/16 at 10:10am.

Approx 28.5 million people are doing it. Are you?
