Election Day SnapChat filters #Spectacles

I see SnapChat (now known as SnapInc) is capitalizing on this 2016 Election Day with a whole bunch of different snap filters.

Also pondering if they have a stronger presence in swing states by capitalizing on geolocation filters and then using it for poll and voter analytics.

I also wonder what filters (if any) they have that are specifically associated w/ their new SnapChat’s Spectacles (SnapInc’s new Sunglasses that pair with the SnapChat).

2016 Tsunami Awareness Day #TsunamiDay2016

Yesterday was 2016 Tsunami Awareness Day. Obviously a good day to review some of the evacuation procedures as well as evacuation routes.

Your local emergency management agency and Public Safety emergency services professionals can provide more detailed information on imitation zones flood zones evacuation routes as well as a whole host of other preparedness items for you and your family.

BTW-I must be doing something right if the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) likes my stuff.

Always be prepared peeps!

SURprise visit to my favorite Social Media class #NDPTC

Who just shows up at a brand new social media class?!?

Glad to see the newly FEMA certified, NDPTC Social Media Tools and Techniques Course (PER-344) to Cuyahoga County, Ohio.

Also glad to see so many fellow peeps as well as public safety professionals who are willing to utilize technology to better their agencies.

Great engagement especially during classroom activities by instructors too.

Seriously, I’m proud to see that this class can help shape the way government and public safety agencies use social media in planned events as well as before, during, and after a disaster.

Super proud.

5 easy tips for a safe 2016 Halloween night #TrickOrTreat #boo

Happy Halloween everyone!!!!

Here are a few tips to make sure your little trick-or-treaters are out safe:

1. Make sure everyone can easily see out of their costumes.

giphy-14

Costume safety!

Cuts and bruises are quick ways to ruin a fun Halloween night.

2. Consult your local jurisdictions (AHJ) on approved times for trick-or-treating.

giphy-13

Trick-or-Treat!

Never want to show up at someone’s house unexpectedly.

3. Make sure everyone has a flashlight or glow sticks.

giphy-11

See and be seen

While driving, it’s hard to see people at night so the more visible you can make everyone, the better.

4. There are chemicals inside those glow sticks – DO NOT let the kiddos chew on them.

giphy-10

Pop – ewwwwwww!

Whoa.

5. Most of all, have fun!
