“STAT MedEvac-8, STAT Page: Lake West Hospital, destination UHC…”
Maybe sharing the story with others helps me.
Maybe it inspires others to help those who need it the most.
Honestly, I wish that night never happened.

Back when we launched from Burke…
Back when STAT8 was the highest number…
Back when we were the FNGs…
Back when I had hair…
Keep a watch on all of us Bill and Kelly.
16 years have passed since that terrible morning that N626MB went down.
We lost Flight Nurse Kelly Conti and Pilot Bill Spence.
I bet they are still keeping a watchful eye on all of us.
Kaito
I see teams are out flying today.
Likely, many more agencies will be spinning up on the ready.
On this Sunday morning, stay safe peeps!
15 years ago. Things were a bit different.
626MB departing with Lead Pilot Joe Mag
Hey Kelly, did you know, I’m still being called “Kaito”?
Kelly and Kaito
While some of our uniforms or missions or jobs have changed, we will never forget.
Glad to have you around Joe P.
Miss you Bill and Kel.
Presenting today at the 63rd Annual Wayne County Fire School (Ohio).
And yes, I get to crack the awesome social media jokes on THE Ohio State University campus.
Lots of Firefighters and Paramedics from all over.
Many familiar faces in the audience too!
Event organizers estimate over 100 attendees with numerous vendors on site including Metro LifeFlight, Cleveland Clinic, and MedFlight of Ohio. Helicopters!
Me? I’m just glad to participate.
Yep, that’s a suit.
Also, kudos to a fellow Firefighter WHFD FF Gary Klaus who was named this year’s Fire School Honorary Dean.
Intro music (GNR’s Paradise City) playing for the afternoon session. #excited.
PIO and Social Media skillz in 3…2…1…
Dear 117KC & 118WS – please keep an eye on all of us.
MedEvac-8 (626MB) at UHC in 2002
I wish you two were still around.
Thinking of all my old flight crews today.
Katio
After a lukewarm week, what made me smile again? This.
Kaito and Whooba
Seeing my former flight team smiling on a great day in Ohio.
University MedEvac-2 (Medina)
Yes, I knew these two jokersters when they first started with the flight program.
Left to right: Kilo-Charlie (117KC) and Whiskey-Sierra (118WS) with Mike-Bravo (626MB) on the fins. If you know the meaning behind these tail numbers, you know what it means to me.
Yups, back in the original EC-135 and BK days.
Lead Pilot Campos, Base Supervisor Celebrezze, and Kaito
So glad to see they now are leading their respective teams as Lead Pilot and Base Supervisor. Ahhh, great memories. Outstanding flight crews. Transition approved!
Kaito….I mean @rusnivek
Just looking through a few pictures from my visit with the 68th Medical Detachment in Hawaii this morning.
Just a slight different configuration for aeromedical patient care transport.
Probably slightly less comfortable than a Stryker or Ferno cot huh?
Mahalos to the flight team for the hospitality.
Happy Aloha Friday everyone.
Just reminiscing about my visit to the London’s Air Ambulance with an old Flight Nurse I used to work with.
Love London. Great town!
Maybe this type of lettering/identification marking will help onscene delineate between Public Works Road Crews vs Emergency Medicine Physicians.
Special thanks to the flight crews from London’s Air Ambulance.
