Early voting in Ohio

In Ohio, we are very fortunate to have early voting.
And because I will be out of state in Region 4 on November 8, I decided to vote early today.

Fairly easy process. Free parking too!

I hope every American is participating in the upcoming election by voting.

And yes, you can vote in an Aloha shirt too. Happy #AlohaFriday peeps!

@rusnivek

Everyone is participating in the #DropCoverHoldOn exercise today at 10:20 #ShakeOut

Everyone should be doing #DropCoverHoldOn during today’s Great #ShakeOut national #preparedness effort.

More Emergency Management interviews at #IAEM16

It was super fun to interview Jody today at the 2016 International Association of Emergency Management Conference.

Emergency Management Officer Jody Hodge from the Jefferson County Emergency Management Agency (Alabama)

Why is Jody so awesome?

Yeah, we talked about preparedness, talked about disaster kits, talked about natural disasters…But to close the interview, he said “Aloha y’all!”

Craig Fugate keynote at #IAEM16

Packed house to listen to FEMA Administrator Craig Fugate here at the 2016 International Association of Emergency Managers annual conference in Savannah.

IMHO, I think it’s going to be “Craig unplugged.”

Some transitional or bridging phrases because you know… #PIO #PAO #ESF15

Just watched a ton of interviews on TV. So, is “You know…” the new “Um….”

For those that need a little help, reference your cue/quiet cards with transitional/bridging phrases.

  • “We need to focus in on…”
  • “Let me reiterate the main problem here is…”
  • “Another factor to consider is…”
  • “Oh, that reminds me…”

Remember, your audience doesn’t know…so help them, well, you know…
