Night ops for Response & Recovery #Irma

Just because it’s dark, don’t think operations stop.

Just remember, disaster response and recovery is a 24-hour business. With 12-hour operational periods, there isn’t much time to fool around.

Sadly, PIOs are tasked with countless tasks all day/night long.

Get some rest peeps. I know I’m tired.

FL Region 7 Mobile Joint Information Center (JIC)

As a change of pace, we opted to have a 1715 PIO meetings in a trailer.

No it wasn’t down by the river, it was actually pretty nice Joint Information Center mobile trailer.

Also housed our PIO drone…which we used for a few promo shots.

Additionally, the walls were all dry erase boards so we could scribble anything we wanted on them.

Neeto!

Special thanks to the Florida Region 7 PIOs for the use of their mobile JIC!

Monroe County Engine-13 is on the air, inservice, in the district #Hurricane #Irma

We circled back to the hard work that the Monroe County Firefighters were doing in each community.

Engine-13’s crews were out quietly supporting their community in the Big Pine Key neighborhoods with debris removal and other support services.

It’s a great story to tell and the community needs to hear about their efforts.

And don’t worry, the lads had time for a quick crew shot too.

Glad to see so many Fire/EMS agencies working to improve each community.
