Because of the changing weather conditions, allow yourself more time for travel esp driving.
As you can see, just brushing the snow off your vehicle won’t help much…

…when you have a solid layer of ice hiding below.
It’s deceiving with a light snowfall hiding the rainfall which turned to a sheet of ice.
So take extra time to chill and chizzle (<–see what I did there?) that thick layer of ice from all your windows.

Good time to put on a good pair of gloves or mittens and my favorite knit hat and have at it.
But for more preparedness tips, check out Ready.Gov’s Winter Weather preparedness tips – all for FREE.
Now back to chiseling out my command vehicle. Bah humbug.
Fun day presenting Social Media Tools and Techniques at the State of Louisiana Homeland Security and Emergency Management Agency’s State Emergency Operations Center.

A few familiar faces but lots of new peeps now armed with social media knowledge.
Super fun course packed with lots of content.
Love me some Louisiana!
Here’s a few follow-up safety messages that could help reinforce public safety efforts during our extreme weather, snow, and blizzard conditions this morning.
Aggressive driving is not safe. Consider a slower, more conservative approach especially when driving on unplowed, un-salted, or sheets of ice.

Lots of Fire and EMS and Police working on the highway today.

Large vehicles often kick up debris while traveling at highway speeds. All motorists need to be cognizant of this especially while driving alongside large vehicles/semi-trucks.
Stay safe and warm out there!
Lots of planning at the Cleveland Fire Training Academy today.

Special thanks to the lads at Engine-30 for supporting.
Glad to be back at the State of Colorado Emergency Operations Center teaching.

Region-8 baby!
More specifically, teaching the new advanced social media course: PER-344.

So many engaged peeps in this class…esp with such fun instructors!

Reporting live from Colorado…
Munday blues got you down? This guy made me smile this morning.

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas…
